The Intersection of Research & Practice
IPS’ mission is to positively affect the communities within Dallas and Ellis Counties by offering clinical and educational services which assist in reducing adult offender recidivism.
We believe that criminogenic behavioral traits are best treated with a quality of care which adheres to evidence based practices. Research suggests that recidivism is negatively affected by collaboration between the components of community supervision and treatment providers. IPS attempts to implement these findings by offering outpatient psychotherapeutic services which are intentionally integrated into the existing operational systems of local community supervision and corrections departments. IPS’ outpatient programs have established the procedural expectation to routinely communicate with an offender’s supervising officer in order to both provide a clinical overview of his or her progress in treatment and to collaborate on barriers to rehabilitation.
